Foresight News reported that Vitalik retweeted and responded to the statement that "the crypto ecosystem itself is also full of closed walled gardens." He agreed with this criticism, but pointed out that "since Ethereum is permissionless, various centralized and closed systems will inevitably exist on top of it. Our task is to build a robust open-source, permissionless, and censorship-resistant ecosystem, so that it ultimately proves itself superior to any closed system."
