London mining stocks rise as metal prices climb

Gelonghui, February 25th | As silver, gold, and copper prices climb, London mining stocks opened higher. ANZ analysts wrote that with the Chinese market reopening after the Spring Festival, copper futures rose, and market sentiment was also boosted by the prospect of the US possibly lowering tariffs. Three-month copper futures on the London Metal Exchange (LME) rose 0.8% to $13,268.50 per ton. Copper miner Antofagasta rose 4.1%. Gold and silver miner Fresnillo rose 4.2%, while Hochschild Mining rose nearly 3%. Diversified miner Anglo American rose 3.4%, and Glencore rose 1.8%.
