UK FCA selects Revolut and three other companies to enter regulatory sandbox for stablecoin innovation testing
PANews reported on February 25 that, according to an official announcement from the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), the FCA has selected four companies to join its regulatory sandbox to test innovative stablecoin services in a real-world environment with security safeguards. The four selected companies are Monee Financial Technologies, ReStabilise, Revolut, and VVTX, which stood out from 20 applications. The testing will begin in the first quarter of 2026, focusing on application scenarios such as stablecoin issuance, payments, wholesale settlement, and crypto trading.
Matthew Long, Director of Payments and Digital Assets at the FCA, stated that this move aims to ensure the credibility of stablecoins in payments and settlements, and the test results will directly influence the final UK stablecoin regulatory rules to be introduced later in 2026.
