Canadian Corporate Profits See Growth in Fourth Quarter
In the final quarter, Canadian businesses achieved an operating profit of $205.6 billion, marking a $2.0 billion increase (1.0%) compared to the previous quarter. This growth was primarily fueled by non-financial sectors, with financial sectors also contributing positively. When compared to the same period last year, operating profits rose by $14.1 billion, representing a 7.4% increase.
Non-financial industries experienced a $1.3 billion (1.3%) rise in operating profit, reaching $105.9 billion. Out of 39 non-financial sectors, 24 reported profit gains. The financial sector also posted improved operating profits during this period.
