Bostic: Saying Goodbye to the Greatest Position I've Held
Reflecting on My Tenure at the Atlanta Fed
Serving as president of the Atlanta Federal Reserve for the past eight years and eight months has been the most rewarding chapter of my career. The journey has been both demanding and fast-paced, requiring me to address a wide range of issues. Since stepping into this role in Atlanta in 2017, I have witnessed and navigated a remarkable series of events: an economy that was expanding slowly and grappling with persistently low inflation, the onset of a global pandemic that led to widespread shutdowns and the loss of 22 million jobs in just two months, disruptions in international supply chains, a robust economic recovery, the highest inflation surge in four decades, and conflicts in Europe, among other challenges.
