The Bank of England is preparing the way for additional reductions in interest rates

Yesterday, multiple members of the Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee presented their insights to the Treasury Select Committee in Parliament. Additionally, another committee member delivered remarks at a Deutsche Bank event earlier this week. As a result, we've received a comprehensive overview of their current positions.
This morning, further developments emerged that will interest those advocating for additional interest rate reductions. From 1 April to 30 June 2026, energy costs for a typical household using both electricity and gas and paying via Direct Debit are set to decrease by £117, or 7%. This translates to an average monthly savings of approximately £10 for these households.
