U.S. data center construction slows due to approval and power supply delays

Gelonghui, February 26th|According to Science and Technology Daily, despite the surging demand for artificial intelligence computing power, the number of newly built data centers in the United States has declined for the first time since 2020, as developers face delays in approvals, zoning planning, and electricity procurement. Real estate consulting firm CBRE released a report stating that the capacity of data centers under construction in the United States will decrease from 6.35 GW at the end of 2024 to 5.99 GW by the end of 2025.
