Address to the Committee: Reflecting on Four Years Since the Conflict Began
It is an honor to once again engage with this Committee as part of our ongoing discussions. This week serves as a somber milestone—four years have passed since Russia initiated its unwarranted attack on Ukraine. Our hearts go out to the people of Ukraine, who continue to face tremendous hardship, and we remain steadfast in our support for everyone impacted by this conflict.
In recent years, the euro area has navigated extraordinary difficulties, with elevated inflation placing strain on both families and businesses. Encouragingly, our measures to curb inflation are showing results, as inflation rates have declined significantly from their previous highs.
