Glonghui, February 26|A certain exchange plans to cut about 800 jobs, accounting for 6% of its full-time workforce. The company stated that this move is to align its workforce with the company's strategic priorities. The company will continue to recruit talent in key areas. This round of layoffs comes one week after the company announced it would acquire the second-hand fashion trading platform Depop for approximately $1.2 billion. Previously, the company also reported strong quarterly results, with revenue in the fourth quarter of last year rising 15% to $3 billion, exceeding analysts' expectations. This is the third large-scale layoff by the company in three years. At the beginning of 2024, the exchange cut about 1,000 jobs, accounting for about 9% of its workforce, citing that labor costs were growing faster than business growth. At the beginning of 2023, the company laid off about 500 employees, about 4% of its total workforce, due to a decline in consumer spending after the online shopping boom during the pandemic.
