Import and Export Price Trends in Early 2026
In January 2026, import prices were 2.3% below the level seen in January 2025. This annual decline matched the rate observed in December 2025, while November 2025 saw a slightly smaller decrease of 1.9% compared to the previous year. According to the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), import prices increased by 1.1% from December 2025 to January 2026, marking the most significant monthly rise since January 2025, when a similar 1.1% increase was recorded over December 2024.
On the export side, prices in January 2026 were 0.2% higher than a year earlier. In December 2025, export prices showed no change compared to December 2024, while in November 2025, they were up by 0.3% year-on-year.
