Economic Performance in Late 2025
During the final quarter of 2025, the gross domestic product (GDP) showed a modest increase of 0.2% in volume, maintaining its growth but at a slower pace than previous quarters. Meanwhile, households experienced another drop in the purchasing power of their gross disposable income per consumption unit, which fell by 0.3% following a 0.4% decrease earlier.
The household savings rate continued its downward trend, declining to 17.9% of gross disposable income. This compares to 18.3% in the third quarter and 18.7% in the second quarter of 2025. Non-financial corporations maintained a steady margin rate, which remained unchanged at 31.5% of their added value during this period.
Overall, GDP growth decelerated in the fourth quarter, rising by only 0.2% after a 0.5% increase in the previous quarter.
