Producer Price Index Sees 0.5% Rise in January
According to the latest report from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Producer Price Index (PPI) for final demand climbed by 0.5% in January, after seasonal adjustments. This follows increases of 0.4% in December 2025 and 0.2% in November. Over the 12 months ending in January 2026, the unadjusted final demand index grew by 2.9%.
The January uptick was primarily driven by a 0.8% rise in prices for final demand services. Meanwhile, prices for final demand goods fell by 0.3%. Excluding food, energy, and trade services, the index also recorded an increase.
