Glonghui, February 27|After achieving record profits last year and increasing shareholder returns, UniCredit in Italy is preparing to raise the average bonus for its key executives by about 15%. According to sources, this adjustment applies to the so-called "material risk takers" bonus pool. This group, numbering around 850 people, typically includes traders, investment banking dealmakers, and senior management. The sources also stated that UniCredit plans to increase the average bonus for non-executives and branch staff by 17%, though there will be differences based on country, position, and individual performance levels. The sources requested anonymity as the discussions involve non-public information. They further revealed that the total bonus pool for material risk takers is about 152 million euros (179 million USD), representing an increase of approximately 18 million euros compared to the 2024 bonus pool on a comparable basis. The bonuses for the CEO and members of the Group Executive Committee will be paid 100% in shares.
