Nvidia’s Stock Remains Unshaken

Nvidia’s (NVDA) shares showed little movement heading into the weekend, even after the company’s highly anticipated earnings announcement two days prior.

Neither CEO Jensen Huang’s trio of televised interviews—complete with his signature leather jacket—nor the overwhelmingly positive reviews from Wall Street analysts (all 61 of them), seemed to spark any excitement.

Not even what I described as a classic, blowout quarter and guidance during a could move the needle.

Inside Nvidia’s Latest Results

  • Nvidia still has nearly $60 billion available for share buybacks, according to its 10-K filing. This could be used to purchase shares following the post-earnings dip.
  • The company has recorded an $11 billion unrealized gain from its investment in Intel, as noted in the 10-K.
  • Revenue guidance for the current quarter is $6 billion above consensus, marking a significant shift in expectations.
  • Revenue growth is picking up speed again (see chart below).
  • Profit margins are improving sequentially.
  • CEO Jensen Huang reports that “compute demand is skyrocketing.”

One tech analyst from Wall Street described Nvidia’s performance as “generational growth at an inspiring valuation.”

Searching for Nvidia’s Next Big Catalyst

Is there something I’m overlooking when it comes to Nvidia?

It seems the market is waiting for a fresh catalyst.

Melissa Otto, head of Visible Alpha research at S&P Global, commented on that “there is no catalyst” at the moment.

Reflecting on her point, I realized Nvidia’s investors are already well-informed about upcoming products, the AI-driven capital expenditure boom, and CEO Huang’s unwavering optimism—including his focus on humanoid robots and autonomous vehicles.

At this stage, how much more Nvidia stock can individual and institutional investors realistically add? The company likely already represents a significant portion of many portfolios.

So, what surprise could be on the horizon for Nvidia? Honestly, I have no idea. If I had to speculate, perhaps a groundbreaking product from the recently acquired Groq will be revealed at the upcoming GTC event next month.

If you have thoughts on what could drive Nvidia’s next rally, reach out to me on X—I’m eager to hear your ideas.
