According to the Economic Times of India, as the United States and Israel strike Iran, escalating regional tensions, the closure of UAE airspace and supply disruptions via Dubai are putting India at risk of potential shortages of gold and natural rough diamonds. Dubai is India's largest supplier of rough diamonds and the second largest source of gold bars, making it crucial for India. India imports 800-850 tons of gold annually, with as much as 50-60% flowing in through Dubai.
