UK Manufacturing Maintains Growth Momentum in February
In February, the UK manufacturing sector continued its upward trend, with businesses experiencing increased orders from both within the country and abroad. Confidence in the industry remained strong, as nearly 60% of manufacturers anticipated higher production levels over the next year.
The seasonally adjusted S&P Global UK Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index™ (PMI®) recorded a reading of 51.7 for February. This figure was nearly unchanged from January’s 17-month peak of 51.8, though it was slightly below the preliminary estimate of 52.0. The PMI has indicated growth for four consecutive months, with three out of its five components showing improvement in February.
