Swiss National Bank announces yearly earnings of $34 billion
Swiss National Bank Announces Record Annual Profit
The Swiss National Bank has revealed a net profit of 26.1 billion Swiss francs (equivalent to $34 billion) for the year 2025, confirming its preliminary estimates released earlier. This substantial profit was largely attributed to a surge in gold prices, as investors turned to safe assets during global economic uncertainty caused by trade tensions and tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump.
According to the central bank, its gold holdings—totaling 1,030 metric tonnes—generated a valuation gain of 36.3 billion francs, with the value of gold rising by nearly 46% over the period.
