Allianz Investment reassesses the value of the US dollar and considers short-term purchases of USD.
ChainCatcher news, according to Golden Ten Data, Allianz Investment is considering purchasing US dollars. In recent months, the company had been betting on the depreciation of the US currency, but the resumption of war in the Middle East has restored its status as a safe-haven asset. Greg Hirt, Chief Investment Officer of Multi-Asset Strategies at the company, stated that there is "ample reason to buy US dollars" in the short term. On Monday, the US dollar climbed to a three-week high against a basket of currencies. Hirt pointed out that although he still believes in the long-term trend of de-dollarization, in the short term it may be necessary to return to a more neutral stance.
