Disruption of transportation in the Strait of Hormuz throws Middle Eastern crude oil pricing into chaos

On March 2, S&P Global Energy stated in a notice to its subscribers that it has stopped accepting bids and offers for crude oil grades that need to pass through this chokepoint in its trading window used to help determine benchmark prices in the Dubai region. The agency said the affected grades include Dubai, Upper Zakum, Al-Shaheen crude, as well as some Murban cargoes. Expand
