Wheat Markets Retreat to Start the Week
Wheat futures experienced a downturn on Monday, with all three major markets posting losses. Chicago SRW contracts fell by 14 to 17 cents for most delivery months. Kansas City HRW futures ended the session 5 to 6 cents lower, while Minneapolis spring wheat slipped between 1 and 3 cents.
Weather Outlook
The upcoming week’s forecast predicts less than half an inch of precipitation for western Kansas and the Oklahoma/Texas panhandles. In contrast, heavier rainfall is expected in the eastern Plains.

Export and Trade Highlights
According to the USDA’s FGIS, wheat export shipments for the week ending February 26 totaled 344,272 metric tons (12.65 million bushels), marking a 38.9% decline from the previous week and nearly 12% below the same period last year. The Philippines led as the primary destination with 88,227 MT, followed by Tanzania at 47,000 MT and Mexico at 39,587 MT. Since June 1, cumulative exports for the 2025/26 marketing year have reached 18.62 million metric tons (684 million bushels), which is 18.82% higher than the same stretch a year ago.
Over the weekend, Saudi Arabia secured 794,000 MT of wheat through a tender process.
