ANZ: Low inflation and the chip cycle help Asia withstand oil price shocks
Show original
Golden Ten Data reported on March 6 that Khoon Goh, Head of Asia Research at ANZ, stated that Asia is in a favorable position to cope with rising oil prices. The region's current low inflation starting point provides a buffer to absorb energy-related price increases. Economic growth momentum is also very strong, driven by the semiconductor supercycle. Policymakers may take action to limit the depreciation of local currencies to prevent further risks of imported inflation.
