Adjusted EBITDA narrowed to $28.5 million compared to $53.2 million in the fourth quarter of 2024. Coal revenues in the met segment shrank to $519.1 million compared to $525.2 million in the third quarter.

Amid the disappointing fourth-quarter results, Alpha Metallurgical Resources, Inc. (NYSE:AMR) continues to return value through buybacks as part of a $1.5 billion share repurchase program. The company has already acquired 6.9 million shares for about $1.1 billion in the first quarter .
