Oil Soars to Highest Level in 29 Months After Trump Declares "No Agreement" With Iran Unless They Accept "Total Surrender"
Diplomatic Efforts Emerge Amidst Ongoing Conflict
The conflict has now stretched into its seventh day, yet there are early signs that diplomacy may offer a path forward. On Friday, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian revealed that multiple nations have initiated attempts to mediate an end to hostilities involving the United States and Israel. However, he emphasized that any negotiations must directly address those responsible for sparking the confrontation.
"A number of countries have started mediation initiatives. To be clear, Iran is dedicated to achieving lasting peace in the region, but we will not waver in upholding our nation’s honor and independence," Pezeshkian stated on X. "Any mediation must focus on those who misjudged Iran’s resolve."
