Expenses for selling, general, and administrative activities fell 3.5% to $120 million. Adjusted operating income was $151 million, nearly unchanged from $152 million a year ago, with the operating margin at 10.3% versus 10.7% previously.

Segment Performance Breakdown

  • Dispensing and Specialty Closures: Revenue grew 0.7% year-over-year to $644 million, supported by the Weener acquisition and increased organic sales. Adjusted EBITDA for the segment was $135 million, up slightly from $134 million in Q4 2024.
  • Metal Containers: This segment saw revenues climb 10.7% to $676 million, driven by favorable pricing and product mix. Adjusted EBITDA reached $64 million, compared to $62 million in the previous year.
  • Custom Containers: Revenue came in at $149 million, down from $162 million a year earlier. Adjusted EBITDA was $25 million, a slight decrease from $27 million in the prior year.

Cash Flow and Financial Position

At the end of Q4 2025, Silgan reported cash and cash equivalents totaling $1.84 billion, a significant increase from $0.82 billion at the close of 2024. The company generated $730 million in operating cash flow, up from $722 million in the previous year.

Full-Year 2025 Results

For the full year, Silgan achieved adjusted earnings of $3.72 per share, edging past the consensus estimate of $3.70 and reflecting a 3% year-over-year increase. This result was within the company's guidance range of $3.66 to $3.76. Including special items, earnings were $2.70 per share, up from $2.58 in the prior year.

Annual revenue rose to $6.48 billion from $5.85 billion, also exceeding the consensus estimate of $6.46 billion.

Outlook for 2026

Looking ahead, Silgan projects adjusted earnings per share between $3.70 and $3.90 for 2026, suggesting a 2% increase at the midpoint. For the first quarter of 2026, the company anticipates adjusted EPS in the range of $0.70 to $0.80, compared to $0.82 in the same quarter last year.
