IEA Director: G7 meeting discusses all available options, including releasing emergency oil reserves
According to Odaily, International Energy Agency (IEA) Executive Director Fatih Birol stated that all available options were discussed at the G7 meeting, including releasing IEA emergency oil reserves to the market. IEA member countries currently hold more than 1.2 billion barrels of public emergency oil reserves, and, at the request of governments, IEA member countries additionally hold 600 million barrels of commercial crude oil inventories.
