Warsh plans meeting with Tillis while Senate confirmation stays stalled
Fed Chair Nominee Kevin Warsh to Meet With Key Senate Republicans
Kevin Warsh, nominated to lead the Federal Reserve, is scheduled to hold discussions this week with Senator Thom Tillis of North Carolina, a Republican who has delayed Warsh's confirmation due to concerns over President Donald Trump’s criticism of the central bank. According to Tillis's office, the meeting is set for this week. Warsh will also speak with Senator Kevin Cramer of North Dakota, who confirmed the upcoming conversation to CNBC. Both senators are members of the Senate Banking Committee, which is responsible for reviewing Federal Reserve nominations. Additional meetings with other committee members are anticipated in the coming days. While Tillis has commended Warsh’s qualifications for the role, he has maintained his hold on the nomination.
