As the conflict in Iran disrupts global energy routes, Russia stands out as the primary beneficiary
Russia's Advantage Amid Middle East Tensions
Experts speaking to CNBC highlight that Russia is emerging as a significant winner from the ongoing conflict involving the U.S., Israel, and Iran. The turmoil has caused oil prices to surge, while temporary easing of sanctions has enabled Russia to increase both the value and volume of its crude exports.
The instability in the Middle East has unsettled global energy markets, with concerns about possible disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz—a vital route for oil shipments—driving prices upward.
Saul Kavonic, who leads energy research at MST Marquee, noted that Russia is poised to benefit financially from these elevated oil prices, particularly since the U.S. has loosened restrictions on Russian oil sales to India.
