Trust Wallet launches automatic address poisoning protection feature, covering 32 EVM chains
PANews, March 10 — According to The Block, decentralized wallet Trust Wallet has launched an automatic Address Poisoning Protection feature to counter the increasingly common "address poisoning" scams. This feature will first support 32 EVM public chains on mobile devices. By scanning user transactions, comparing addresses, and generating difference reports, it automatically warns users of incorrect addresses when they copy or enter a recipient address. Trust Wallet stated that this tool integrates intelligence from HashDit and a certain exchange's Security team to identify spoofed addresses, supplementing its transaction-level risk scanning tool launched in 2023. Security company Cyvers reported that over 1 million address poisoning "preparatory operations" are detected daily on Ethereum, and Trust estimates about 34,000 attacks occur every hour, potentially affecting around 17 million victims.
