Glonghui, March 10|Amazon (AMZN.US) is returning to the bond market, joining the wave of corporate financing led by the artificial intelligence boom. According to sources, the company plans to issue bonds with up to 11 maturities, ranging from 2 to 50 years. The longest portion of this deal (maturing in 2076) is initially being discussed at about 1.55 percentage points above the yield on U.S. Treasuries. HSBC Holdings, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, and JPMorgan will be responsible for underwriting this bond issuance. This is the latest in a series of massive bond issuances by major cloud computing companies, which are preparing to invest hundreds of billions of dollars in building artificial intelligence infrastructure. So far, investor demand remains strong, with recent bond offerings being oversubscribed several times over.
