HELLENiQ ENERGY Unveils Its Initial Solar Park Projects in Romania
HELLENiQ ENERGY Begins Renewable Operations in Romania
HELLENiQ ENERGY has taken a significant step in its international green energy expansion by launching its first renewable energy projects in Romania.
The company has officially announced the completion and commercial launch of two solar parks located in southern Romania, which together provide 58 MW of power. These installations are part of a larger partnership established in 2023 with METLEN, aiming to develop and acquire a total of four solar projects with a combined capacity of 211 MW. The remaining two projects, offering an additional 153 MW, are scheduled to become operational in 2026.
These new solar facilities mark HELLENiQ ENERGY’s entry into Romania’s renewable sector and support the company’s broader regional expansion plans. Looking ahead, the company intends to construct a 96 MW wind farm in northeastern Romania, expected to be completed by 2027. Once finished, this will increase HELLENiQ ENERGY’s total installed capacity in Romania to over 300 MW.
Across its operations in Greece, Romania, Cyprus, Bulgaria, and North Macedonia, HELLENiQ ENERGY’s renewable energy capacity has now reached 564 MW. The company has set ambitious goals to achieve 1.5 GW by 2028 and surpass 2 GW by 2030 as part of its ongoing energy transition strategy.
