This major investment will be used to introduce advanced production equipment, optimize existing production lines, and expand the plant area to meet the growing market demand for innovative medicines. Through this capacity expansion, Eli Lilly will further strengthen the stability of its global supply chain in key therapeutic areas such as diabetes and Alzheimer's disease. Kobe Steel Works, as Eli Lilly's important strategic production base in Asia, will undergo upgrades that simultaneously adopt automation and digitalization technologies to ensure that pharmaceutical production quality meets the highest international standards. The investment plan is expected to complete equipment installation and commissioning by 2025, and the annual production capacity of the base will increase by approximately 30%. This expansion will not only consolidate Eli Lilly's leading position in the Japanese pharmaceutical market, but also provide more sustainable drug supply assurance for patients in the Asia-Pacific region.
