ECB's de Guindos: Iran Conflict Expected to Negatively Impact Economic Growth
ECB Official Warns of Economic Risks from Iran Conflict
On Wednesday, European Central Bank Vice President Luis de Guindos cautioned that the ongoing conflict involving Iran is expected to negatively affect economic growth and could heighten inflationary pressures. Speaking at the 32nd Financial Sector Meeting in Madrid, hosted by ABC and Deloitte, de Guindos noted that turmoil in the Middle East has added further instability to an already challenging global environment, making future economic forecasts increasingly uncertain.
He emphasized the importance for the ECB to prepare for a range of possible scenarios, from relatively mild to more severe outcomes, in response to the evolving situation.
