格隆汇 March 12|Amid market turmoil triggered by the conflict in the Middle East, US stock investors are fleeing industries vulnerable to energy shocks and returning to the technology sector for safety. Since the outbreak of the conflict, the Information Technology (IT) sector has become the best-performing among the 11 sectors of the S&P 500 Index. Since the US stock market closed on February 27—when the US and Israel launched military strikes against Iran the following day—the IT sector has risen by 1.5%. Meanwhile, the other ten sectors have all declined, and the S&P 500 Index has dropped by 1.5% in total. Analysts believe that investors have temporarily set aside concerns about the impact of artificial intelligence on various industries and are instead seeking the sense of security brought by the strong profitability of the "Tech Seven Giants."
