Ballard Power Systems Reports Improved Quarterly Results
Ballard Power Systems Inc., headquartered in Burnaby, British Columbia, announced a fourth-quarter net loss of $17.5 million.
The company recorded a per-share loss of 6 cents for the quarter.
These figures were better than anticipated by Wall Street, as analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research had predicted a loss of 7 cents per share.
During the same period, Ballard Power Systems generated $33.6 million in revenue, exceeding analyst expectations of $29.8 million.
Looking at the full year, the company reported a reduced net loss of $90.9 million, or 30 cents per share, with total annual revenue reaching $99.4 million.
At the close of trading, Ballard's stock price stood at $2.15, compared to $1.20 at the same time last year.
