Can Newmont Maintain Its Robust Free Cash Flow Performance?
Newmont Achieves Record Free Cash Flow in Q4 2025
Newmont Corporation (NEM) reported its highest-ever quarterly free cash flow in the final quarter of 2025, highlighting both its operational strength and the quality of its asset portfolio. The company’s free cash flow nearly doubled from the previous year, reaching $2.8 billion for the quarter, and soared to $7.3 billion for the full year—an increase of two and a half times year over year. This impressive growth was fueled by a 44% rise in net cash from operating activities to $3.6 billion for the quarter, and a 62% jump to $10.3 billion for the year.
During its fourth-quarter earnings call, Newmont expressed confidence in maintaining robust free cash flow into 2026, supported by its top-tier portfolio. The company is also poised to benefit from strong gold prices, which are expected to further enhance profitability and cash generation.
Gold prices are anticipated to remain elevated due to increased purchases by central banks and ongoing safe-haven demand amid Middle East tensions and broader economic uncertainty. With a solid balance sheet, Newmont is well-positioned to fund growth projects, fulfill debt obligations, and deliver value to shareholders.
