Vivid Seats Debt Plunges After Disappointing Earnings Report

Vivid Seats Inc. saw its debt fall deeper into troubled status following a quarterly earnings release that failed to meet expectations and a forecast for even weaker performance in the coming year.

According to sources, the company's $390 million first lien senior secured term loan, maturing in 2029, was recently quoted in the 30-cent range per dollar. Previously, since November, it had been trading between the mid and high 50s, but most recently changed hands at 47 cents on the dollar, based on BVAL data.

On Thursday, the ticket marketplace reported fourth-quarter revenue of $126.8 million, representing a 37% decline compared to the same period last year. The platform’s marketplace gross order value—which includes all transaction amounts processed, with fees but excluding taxes and event cancellations—dropped by 42%. The company also posted a net loss of $428.7 million for the quarter. For the full year, both revenue and gross order value saw substantial decreases, and the annual net loss reached $721.5 million in 2025, a sharp reversal from a profit the previous year.

Chief Executive Officer Larry Fey stated during the earnings call that Vivid Seats has been focused on cutting expenses, successfully reaching $60 million in annualized cost reductions.

Fey also highlighted the company’s efforts to enhance its technology, including the recent launch of a ChatGPT-integrated app aimed at making event discovery more tailored, user-friendly, and efficient by leveraging real-time consumer intent.

Vivid Seats, which is partially owned by private equity firm GTCR, has long contended with major competitors such as StubHub, SeatGeek, and Ticketmaster in the ticket resale industry. Analysts at Bloomberg Intelligence noted that the company’s recent decline in resale revenue points to mounting competition, and suggested that Vivid Seats could become an acquisition target as rivals seek to expand their market presence.

The company did not respond to repeated requests for comment.
