One new platform A cryptocurrency-focused, funded company has begun operating in the global market. Velotrade, a Hong Kong-based company founded by former institutional traders, has introduced a system that provides capital for traders to operate digital assets, sharing profits based on the performance of those operations.

The proposal follows the model known as proprietary trading, in which investors can trade cryptocurrencies using capital provided by a specialized company, instead of using their own resources. This format has been gaining attention among traders seeking to expand their market exposure without compromising personal capital.

To access a funded account, participants typically need to go through an evaluation process that measures the consistency of their results and risk management. After approval, the trader gains access to an account with company capital and begins receiving a share of the profits earned, provided they adhere to the risk management rules established by the platform.

According to Velotrade, its structure was created specifically for the cryptocurrency market and eliminates some of the limitations common in similar platforms. These include strict consistency rules, time limits for evaluation, and trading restrictions during economic events or weekends.

The company's CEO and co-founder, Gianluca Pizzituti, states that the business model seeks to align the interests of the platform and the traders.

“We’re not here to charge challenge fees and hope people fail,” said Gianluca Pizzituti, CEO and co-founder of Velotrade. “Our revenue model is tied to trader performance. This completely changes how you set the rules and how you treat the people who trade with your capital.”

The platform offers proprietary accounts with capital ranging from US$5.000 to US$200.000. The system allows trading primarily in Bitcoin and Ethereum with leverage up to 6 times.

Profit payments can be requested 14 days after the start of operations and subsequently on a weekly basis. Withdrawals are processed in digital currencies such as USDC or USDT.

To replicate the operations executed by traders, Velotrade uses institutional liquidity bridges combined with AI-based hedging systems. In this way, the company claims it only obtains a return when the traders also show positive results.

The founding team brings together nearly three decades of experience in institutional markets. Vittorio De Angelis, the company's CEO, previously worked at JPMorgan and Dresdner Kleinwort before holding derivatives-related positions at Bank of America.

Before creating Velotrade, Pizzituti also operated a high-frequency trading firm focused on foreign exchange and stock indices in Singapore.

The group is also responsible for Velotrade Management Limited, a trade finance platform founded in 2016 that has already distributed more than US$2,5 billion to clients in different regions of the world and remains in operation.
