Solana is currently trading around $73.80, and the interesting part is that this recovery is not just coming from people buying the dip. There is actual activity building behind the scenes, especially when you look at what is happening on the network itself. The real world asset side of Solana is becoming harder to ignore. Tokenised assets on the network have now reached $3.03 billion in total value, while the number of holders has climbed to 290,481, which is a 24.4% increase in just one month. But the number that stands out the most for me is the transfer volume. Around $8.53 billion has moved through RWA transfers in the last 30 days. That shows there is real movement happening, not just money sitting around waiting for the next move. Liquidity is also becoming a major part of the Solana story. Stablecoins on the network have grown to $15.77 billion, giving the ecosystem more room for trading and larger transactions. On top of that, SOL focused ETF products have seen $5.52 million in inflows recently. It is not a huge number by itself, but the timing matters because this is happening while the wider market is still cautious. It shows some investors are still looking for exposure. From the chart side, Solana is approaching an important area. The $78 to $82 zone remains the resistance that buyers need to break. If SOL can clear that level with strong volume, the next area traders will likely watch is around $92. But before that happens, the $72 support level is important. Holding above that keeps the current recovery structure alive and shows buyers are still defending the move. XRP is showing strength in a different way. The price is currently around $1.0432, but the bigger story is not only about the chart. Whale activity has been increasing, with the exchange whale versus retail spread moving from 26.0% on May 6 to 50.9% by June 29. This means larger XRP transfers are making up a bigger part of exchange activity compared to smaller retail movements. The ETF side of XRP is also interesting. XRP products recorded $15.63 million in inflows on June 26, while Bitcoin and Ethereum products saw major outflows. XRP funds have now recorded seven straight positive weeks, bringing total inflows to around $144.69 million. Looking at both assets together, the picture is interesting. Solana has growing network activity, improving liquidity and a clear technical level that could decide the next move. If you have been observing, you would notice that there was no real altseason during the last bull run, and most altcoins have continued to bleed throughout the current bear market. So, is the altcoin era slowly coming to an end? According to Crypto. Quant analyst Darkf. ost, altcoins have been the weakest part of the crypto market. Around 84% of altcoins are now trading below their 200-day moving average (200-DMA), putting them in what he calls a “state of total underperformance.” He pointed out that every recovery attempt has failed so far, while Total3 the index tracking altcoin market capitalization excluding $ETH continues to trend lower, with a weekly close now confirmed below the 200-DMA. 📉 Altcoin Apocalypse This hasn’t happened overnight. Altcoins have been struggling for nearly eight months, making this the second-longest period of underperformance since 2020. The data covers every altcoin available for spot trading on a major exchange, the world’s largest crypto exchange by trading volume. It also shows that altcoins have remained strongly tied to Bitcoin’s price action throughout this cycle. Dark. fost described the current market as a prolonged period of stagnation that has tested investors’ patience. Still, he noted that similar phases have historically offered solid medium-term opportunities, although finding the winners now requires much more careful asset selection than in previous cycles. The broader crypto market is still around 51% below its peak, with total market capitalization sitting at roughly $2.15 trillion. Meanwhile, major altcoins like BNB, $XRP , and Solana remain 60% to 75% below their all-time highs, while most lower-cap altcoins are still down 80% to 90%. Despite the weak price action, the top three Altcoin Season Indexes are currently sitting between 48 and 51, suggesting the market is still neutral, not yet in either a Bitcoin season or an altseason. Not everyone is bearish, though. Crypto analyst Syko. delic believes “things are shaping up very well for altcoins.” He admits that’s hard to believe after the painful performance of altcoins over the past few years, but argues the charts are beginning to tell a different story. Supporting that view, several technical analysts have highlighted that, for the first time in more than two years, the 1-week MACD has flipped into positive territory, with the chart forming a strong bottom similar to the setup that preceded the 2020 altcoin rally.

The altcoin market is showing early signs of resilience that could set the stage for a short-term recovery, even as macroeconomic conditions remain deeply unfavourable. Equities pushed lower last week. $BTC and Strategy came under significant pressure. New escalations in the Middle East added another layer of uncertainty over the weekend. By any conventional measure, the fundamentals are bearish. And yet the price of altcoins has not collapsed in line with those fundamentals. That divergence is the most important signal in the market right now. Bottoms usually form when the fundamentals are still very bearish. It is usually when we have max fear and when the fundamentals seem at their worst. The price action between Wednesday and Friday of last week was cited as a concrete example. During that window, fundamentals got worse, not better. Yet the market held its lows and even printed higher lows, which the analyst described as a sign of strength in a bearish environment. Funding Rates Turning Negative Is a Bullish Signal The more technical part of the case rests on funding rates. Several altcoins are seeing funding rates turn sharply negative, including $XRP , $ETH , Dogecoin, and Cardano. Litecoin in particular stood out because it was moving higher on the day while its funding rate turned more negative. Negative funding rates in a rising or stable price environment typically indicate that spot buyers are in control rather than leveraged longs, a healthier and more sustainable form of buying pressure. “Spot is buying. Is this enough to go fully bullish? No. But it is a bullish sign.” This was described as a signal rather than a confirmation, with the analyst noting the altcoin market still lacks the structural clarity needed to declare a full recovery. Two Conditions Must Be Met Two specific things need to happen before a recovery becomes the base case. First, broader financial markets need to open on Monday in a relatively stable manner. There is a risk that weekend geopolitical escalations get fully priced in at the Monday open, which could lead to a sharp gap down. Until that risk clears, caution remains appropriate. Second, altcoins need to reclaim the seven-day rolling VWAP and the monthly value area low. The Total 3 chart, which tracks the total crypto market cap excluding Bitcoin and Ethereum, was highlighted as the key benchmark. If Total 3 can reclaim those levels while funding rates remain negative and macro conditions are at least neutral, a meaningful recovery becomes the most likely scenario. Altcoins Worth Watching Several names were flagged as showing relative strength. Solana has held up notably well compared to the broader altcoin market. Litecoin has already reclaimed both the monthly value area low and the seven-day rolling VWAP, described as technically meaningful with genuine long-term buying interest expressed. Pengu, Sky as a potentially oversold setup, and Syrup were also mentioned as names worth monitoring if broader recovery conditions are confirmed.
