OpenAI expects its losses to reach $14bn by 2026
OpenAI burned through $340 million in the first half of 2024, according to The Information.OpenAI's projections show that the company won't be profitable until 2029, when its revenues will reach $100 billion. Before it reaches that point, the company could lose as much as $14 billion by 2026, nearly triple this year's projected loss, and is expected to lose a total of $44 billion from 2023 to 2028, according to an analysis of data contained in OpenAI's financial filings. That estimate doesn't include stock-based compensation, one of OpenAI's biggest expenses, even though it isn't paid out in cash.
