UK to Appoint "Digital Markets Leader" to Promote Financial Market Tokenization
Jinse Finance reported, citing Bloomberg, that the UK government will establish a "Digital Markets Lead" position, responsible for leading and coordinating the private sector's work on tokenization in wholesale financial markets. Lucy Rigby, Economic Secretary to the Treasury, stated that this position will promote the use of blockchain technology to enable the tokenized issuance, trading, and settlement of traditional assets such as stocks and bonds.
