Securitize appoints former PayPal executive as general counsel in preparation for SPAC listing.
asset tokenization company Securitize has announced the appointment of former PayPal digital assets legal head Jerome Roche as Chief Legal Officer, preparing the company for listing on Nasdaq through a SPAC under Cantor Fitzgerald.
The merger is expected to give Securitize a valuation of $1.25 billion and trade under the ticker SECZ. Securitize plans to tokenize its own equity and is the issuer of BlackRock's on-chain treasury fund BUIDL. Roche stated that his professional focus is precisely at the "intersection of compliance regulation and technological innovation."
