Wheat Continues to Rise in Early Friday Trading
Wheat Market Update: Winter Wheat Leads Gains
On Friday morning, winter wheat prices are showing notable strength, while spring wheat is experiencing some softness. The wheat market closed higher across all three major exchanges on Thursday. Chicago SRW futures ended the session up by 7 to 8 cents, supported by renewed buying interest and a 7,804 contract increase in open interest. Kansas City HRW futures also advanced, finishing 5 to 6 cents higher. Meanwhile, Minneapolis spring wheat saw front-month contracts climb by 10 cents on Thursday.
USDA export sales figures, delayed due to the Monday holiday, are expected to be released later this morning. Market participants anticipate weekly wheat export bookings to fall between 150,000 and 450,000 metric tons.
SovEcon has maintained its projection for Russia's 2026 wheat harvest at 83.8 million metric tons, unchanged from its previous estimate.
