Exxon Mobil Reports Strong Fourth-Quarter Earnings
Exxon Mobil Corp., headquartered in Spring, Texas, announced a net profit of $6.5 billion for the fourth quarter on Friday.
The company reported earnings of $1.53 per share, with adjusted earnings—excluding one-time items—coming in at $1.71 per share.
These adjusted results exceeded analyst expectations. According to a survey by Zacks Investment Research, analysts had anticipated earnings of $1.68 per share. However, Exxon Mobil does not modify its official results to account for one-off events like asset sales.
During the quarter, Exxon Mobil generated $82.31 billion in revenue, which fell short of Wall Street projections. Analysts surveyed by Zacks had forecasted revenue of $83.18 billion.
