Swiss Consumer Price Index for January 2026
January 2026 Consumer Price Index Update
In January 2026, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) dropped by 0.1% from the previous month, reaching 99.9 points (with December 2025 as the base at 100). Compared to January of the prior year, inflation stood at +0.1%, according to data released by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
This slight monthly decline was mainly influenced by reductions in electricity costs and supplementary accommodation prices. Airfare, clothing, and footwear prices also saw decreases, with the latter affected by seasonal sales. On the other hand, hotel rates and prices for international package holidays experienced an uptick.
