In February 2026, France saw a 1.0% annual rise in consumer prices
Inflation Trends for February 2026
Based on early estimates at the end of the month, consumer prices are anticipated to climb by 1.0% in February 2026, after a 0.3% rise in January. This uptick in inflation is largely attributed to a smaller decline in energy costs, influenced by a base effect from the significant drop in electricity prices seen in February 2025. The decrease in prices for manufactured products is also expected to be less pronounced than in the previous month. Additionally, food prices, along with costs for services and tobacco, are forecasted to increase at a faster annual rate. Overall, consumer prices are set to grow by 0.7% in February, compared to a 0.3% increase in January.
