A trial of the eurozone economy’s ability to withstand challenges
Eurozone Economic Outlook Amid Rising Geopolitical Tensions
At the beginning of the year, the euro area showed promising economic growth. Early indicators suggested a possible cyclical upturn, leading us to anticipate inflation just below target and growth close to its long-term average. However, recent events in the Middle East have introduced new challenges, putting the region's economic resilience to the test and increasing concerns about stagflation.
Although uncertainty has intensified, the initial financial market response to the US and Israeli actions, as well as Iran's countermeasures, has remained relatively stable. The prevailing consensus is that a major escalation is unlikely, with a peaceful resolution considered more probable than a drawn-out conflict.
