The US Dollar Remains the Sole Major Player
The Dollar Dominates Amid Global Turmoil
As conflict escalates in the Middle East, the US dollar has emerged as the primary asset of choice, strengthening against most other currencies. In contrast, traditional safe havens such as gold, the Swiss franc, and US Treasury bonds have seen declines. Stock markets are experiencing significant losses, and surging oil prices are putting additional pressure on bond markets.
Currently, the ongoing war in the Middle East overshadows all other economic factors. The unpredictable nature of the conflict makes it nearly impossible to gain clear insights or anticipate a swift resolution. With heightened uncertainty and no clear path toward de-escalation, short-term economic indicators have become largely irrelevant. In these conditions, maintaining a cautious approach is advisable.
