China Mineral Resources responds to Zimbabwe lithium export ban: Limited impact, actively promoting local processing

Golden Ten Data reported on March 4 that on March 3, in response to the Zimbabwean government's recent announcement to suspend all exports of raw minerals and lithium concentrates, China Mineral Resources stated that the production and sales of its lithium salt products are proceeding normally, and the relevant announcement has limited impact on the company. China Mineral Resources revealed that the raw materials for its lithium salt products mainly come from the Bikita mine in Zimbabwe, but the company currently has sufficient domestic raw material inventory. Regarding the export ban, the company is actively negotiating with the local government about relevant export policies. The company also pointed out that Zimbabwe's suspension of lithium exports aims to combat smuggling and encourage local deep processing, which is expected to raise the threshold for lithium mine exports from Zimbabwe and benefit companies like China Mineral Resources with legitimate qualifications and legal mining rights in Zimbabwe in the long term. In addition, China Mineral Resources stated that it is actively advancing the construction of a lithium sulfate production line in Zimbabwe, with related projects progressing as planned. "Building a lithium sulfate factory locally in Zimbabwe can effectively reduce overall production costs and aligns with the company's long-term interests," said China Mineral Resources.
