MetaQuotes Begins Restricting Brokers Licensed in Comoros
MetaQuotes Suspends MetaTrader Licenses for Comoros-Based Brokers
MetaQuotes has halted the distribution of MetaTrader licenses to brokers operating under the Union of the Comoros, causing significant disruption for numerous offshore companies that previously benefited from the region’s relaxed regulatory framework. This change, which was implemented in February, comes amid increasing scrutiny over the regulatory standards in the small Indian Ocean country.
According to reports from Finance Magnates RU and other media sources, MetaQuotes has reevaluated the regulatory risks associated with Comorian jurisdictions, particularly Mohéli (Mwali) and Anjouan. These areas have been popular among brokers due to the ease of registration and minimal oversight.
