U.S. Import and Export Price Trends for January
According to the latest data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, import prices in the United States edged up by 0.2% in January, mirroring the increase seen in December. The rise in nonfuel import costs outweighed the decrease in fuel import prices during the month.
Export prices from the U.S. also climbed by 0.6% in January, maintaining the same pace of growth as the previous month.
On a year-over-year basis, import prices dropped by 0.1% between January 2025 and January 2026. Notably, the cost of imported fuel declined by 2.2% in January, continuing its downward trend.
